The outbreak of the Second World War brought changes to thousands of people and the Milsom family did not escape lightly. During the Bath Blitz in 1942, one major upheaval changed the dynamic of the family for ever and the following pages introduce the Canadian link to the Milsom family at this time.
 Henry Hurl Humphries (Uncle Hurl) - a very special man who played an important role during my childhood. Uncle Hurl was born on 8 September 1885 in Warkworth County, Northumberland in Ontario, Canada. He was the eldest son of Henry Hurl Humphries Snr and Caroline Matilda BOYCE.
