Sarah Hannah Milsom 1850-1898


Sarah Hannah Milsom was the first born child of Charles and Hannah Milsom - born on 26th April 1850 in Bath, Somerset.   At the age of 25, on 18th July 1875, Sarah married tanner John Gould Smyth at St Mary's Church, Bathwick, Bath.  sarah and John set up home in Cheshire  and their union produced five children, namely (1) Sarah Jessie Smyth; (2) Charles Edward Gould Smyth; (3) Evelyn Frances Smyth; (4) Stuart Dudley Smyth; and (5) Sydney Sherwood Smyth.  

Sadly however, in 1898, only six years following the birth of her last child Sydney, Sarah died at 27 Albion Street, Hull.  Cause of death was noted at nephropexy (floating kidneys) and tetanus and her death was certified by surgeon Henry Thompson CTCP who resided at 16 Albion Street.  Present as Sarah's death was her beloved brother Revd. Edward Milsom.
